Building
İstiklal Caddesi 211
Restoration work for the building that hosts ARTER and its conversion into an exhibition space was completed in 2009.

The building is situated on Istiklal Avenue, Istanbul's main artery for culture and art; it is thought to have been built in the 1910s by Petraki Meymaridis Efendi, one of the architects of the 6th Municipal District Office (Beyoğlu). It was registered as "Meymaret Han" during the Republic Era, as visible in Jacques Pervititch's insurance maps.

The building was restored under the supervision of Fahrettin Ayanlar, master architect and Coordinator of Projects and Construction at the VKF. The renewed building has total of 864 m2 area of use spread over four floors.
