The concert which will take place at Arter’s performance hall Karbon features Mazen Kerbaj – one of the key players of the Lebanese free improvisation and experimental music scene, and the co-founder of Beirut’s annual improvised music festival Irtijal – as he complements the unconventional sounds generated by the instruments of Sharif Sehnaoui and Tony Elieh with the abstract and constantly changing drawings created on a glass surface through different types of paint, towels, sprays and brushes. Founded in 2009 by Kerbaj and Sehnaoui, Wormholes accentuates their abstract musical stance with the transience of the drawings which accompany their performances. Not only the drawings but also the free styling tunes of the instruments will be guided by a random flow in the trio’s performance at Arter.
